Confidential Negligence Settlement With Publicly Traded Defendant
.avif)
Description
Attorney Matthew Goldberger sued a nationally known, publicly traded healthcare laboratory that misplaced their patient’s blood draw. The defendant erroneously reported a different patient’s blood results to the client’s employer. The incorrect blood results were positive for drugs and alcohol and the client was suspended without pay from a lucrative position in a regulated industry. After proving, with DNA evidence, that the blood did not belong to his client, Matthew Goldberger obtained a confidential six figure settlement shortly before a trial was to begin in Federal Court. The settlement made the client whole and the company’s acceptance of liability allowed the client to repair the reputational damage caused by the negligence.
